Ewan played an active and crucial role in assisting with founding Rochdale Connections Trust when he was employed by Rochdale Education Authority in 1997. We were thrilled that he chose to join the Board following his retirement in 2015.
Over his 38 year career Ewan was involved in a range of different roles within Local LEAs and beyond. Ewan began his career as a secondary school teacher, before climbing the ranks through the school system and joining the LEA in Rochdale as a Lead Officer. Ewan joined HMI as an Ofsted Inspector and rose to the position of Lead Inspector. Ewan was appointed Regional Education and Skills Advisor for the NW Regional Development Agency before being headhunted by Peter Jones (Dragon’s Den) to establish and manage an enterprise academy in Manchester for 16-19 year olds for his National Enterprise Academy programme.
