Female Freedom

Female Freedom is for females who have been involved in or are at risk of getting involved in domestic abuse or violent relationships.  This is an 11 week rolling course that can be started on any week, after an initial pre-course meeting either at RCT or at somewhere safe for the lady to meet.

The Freedom Programme examines the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive men and the responses of victims and survivors. It can help ladies to change their own behaviour and to recognise when they are being controlled. The programme aims to help participants to make sense of and understand what has happened to them, instead of the whole experience just feeling like a horrible mess. The Freedom Programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to domestic abuse and how, very importantly their lives are significantly improved when the abuse is removed.

This programme is delivered over 11 x 2 hour sessions. It is a rolling programme, so women who attend can miss a
session and do it later when they are ready. Some women can take months or even years to complete it.
