The Best Life Programme is a 12-week school-based course that helps young people build healthy relationships, improve emotional wellbeing, increase self-esteem, and recognise the risks of abuse, grooming, and exploitation. Through interactive group sessions, participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to make safe, informed, and positive life choices.

Delivered in small groups, the programme creates a safe and supportive environment where young people can discuss important issues, ask questions, explore different perspectives, and challenge misconceptions. Sessions are interactive, engaging, and designed to encourage participation while respecting the views and experiences of others.

The programme helps young people to:

• Recognise the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships
• Identify controlling, abusive, or harmful behaviours
• Understand consent and personal boundaries
• Increase awareness of grooming, exploitation, and associated risks
• Build self-esteem and confidence
• Develop emotional literacy and improve wellbeing
• Strengthen problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Build resilience and healthier peer relationships

The Best Life Programme supports young people who would benefit from increased knowledge, confidence, and skills around relationships, wellbeing, personal safety, and decision-making. The programme is delivered within schools and educational settings.

Our Approach

At Rochdale Connections Trust, we believe that prevention is key. By providing young people with trusted support, accurate information, and opportunities for open discussion, we help them develop the confidence to recognise unhealthy situations, seek support when needed, and make informed choices that contribute to positive futures.
