Respectful Relationships
Course

RCT’s Respectful Relationships course will be 6 weeks in total.  This is an extremely popular course with those who attend sessions at RCT.
  • Session 1 will explore good lives model and centre on relationships and the need for different types of relationships. They will start to identify goals for their participation in the course
  • Session 2 the group will explore emotions and how they sometimes get the better of us.  The difference between actions, thoughts and behaviours.
  • Session 3 the group will explore distress tolerance, radical acceptance, how to build resilience, the important differences between greed, envy and jealousy before looking at techniques of positive self-talk.
  • Session 4 the group will explore conflict management in a relationship.  We compare constructive methods and “frames of mind” with destructive methods of conflict resolution.
  • Session 5 We again look at the “Rules for a Fair Argument” and practical ways to stop a disagreement from escalating into a full argument.  We look at the words that people use and how that affects us and how to how to manage these emotions effectively.
  • Session 6 is a reflection of the whole duration of the course, a final Good Lives Model and how to plan and adapt for the future.

All participants need to have been referred in advance, please contact Jenny.miller@r-c-t.co.uk for a referral form.  We anticipate the next course starting in January 2019.
Respectful Relationships usually runs on a Wednesday morning. We run this course at several points in the year, please contact us for more information.
