Testimonials

As part of our Counselling Service we ask all client's to give feedback on the service as a whole and the sessions with their Counsellor.

Most of our Counsellors are volunteer's who are dedicated and committed to improving the lives of people living in the Rochdale Borough. We feel the client feedback really shows how much our Counselling Service is needed and valued by our service users.
"Sam has been the most thoughtful and non-judgemental person I have ever met. She allowed me to be myself and listened to me. I felt so comforted and cared for considering what I had been through in the past. The sessions have given me more control of my life, thoughts and feelings. It has definitely helped and I would definitely recommend it, it has improved my life positively. Sam has a warm heart and I can never thank her enough for her kind soul."

“I came to counselling from the Freedom Programme after being in a bad relationship. Jenny referred me to see a counsellor and I was seen really quickly. I also had a family support worker at RCT who helped me with my bills and debts. The counsellor was easy to work with and I was very happy with the support. She got me through some really tough times. I am still struggling now but feel able to get on with my life. There are things I would like to explore in the future but I am not ready at the moment. Thanks to the team for everything”
“Whilst I have been with RCT I have been on the freedom programme, respectful relationships, coffee morning and counselling. I came to RCT for the Freedom but ended up with lots of other support.
I fled an abusive relationship and was relocated to Rochdale. I had no friends, no support and was very isolated with 2 young children. RCT have allowed me to be myself again, make friends and even worked with my children. We have had fun days out as a family completely free which has been a nice treat.
My counsellor and counselling sessions have made a huge difference in my situation and how I view different challenges. I have learnt so much which will help me even later in life. Thank you so much. My counsellor is very calm and is always ready to listen to my needs. He was able to give me useful advice and different methods in which I could use to help my self-confidence.
Overall this is an excellent service and without this help I would not have been able to achieve my future goals”
"I came to RCT to access the Freedom Programme and was referred for counselling. It was a quick and easy process and I was given information about the counselling and what I should expect. I would recommend the counselling service as I found it useful and am very satisfied with the support I received from my counsellor, it has made a difference to my situation as it gave me a safe space to think. I have come a long way since my first session"
“I have achieved a lot, I am a new person now! I can stand my ground thank's to the counselling. Thank you for making me see things in a different way, in an adult way!
Thank you once again"
“My counsellor was fantastic during my journey and was able to support me given any way I was feeling. She helped me to understand things and deal with day to day/ week to week issues, without influencing my thought or emotions. My counsellor helped me to make sense of a lot of things and relieve the stress around my circumstances and the things I was dealing with”
"I was very nervous starting counselling and not sure what to expect, but having completed my sessions I wish I had done it a long time ago. The referral was very quick which I was not expecting and I started with my counsellor two weeks after I was seen for an assessment. My counsellor was lovely and made me relax, the sessions have been extremely helpful and I am going to miss them. Thank you"
