HHJ Elizabeth Nicholls joined the Board of Trustees at RCT in 2018 and was a very welcome addition, with a wealth of experience and expertise that undoubtedly benefits the Charity greatly. Libby, as she prefers to be known, operated in chambers in Manchester since her pupillage and was a firm favourite throughout her career at the bar. She moved to the Circuit bench in 2015, sitting at Liverpool and is renowned for serving with distinction.
All who know Libby appreciate the great empathy she brings to the bench, together with a well-developed sense of right and wrong. Indeed, these are key qualities on display in her capacity as a Trustee and she utilises an analytical style to scrutinising the work of the Charity and making highly informed and practical suggestions and recommendations.
