This course provides a safe, supportive space to explore respectful and healthy relationships. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on patterns of behaviour, understand emotions and triggers, and develop practical skills to manage conflict, communicate more effectively and plan for positive change.
WEEKLY SESSIONS
- Session 1 will explore good lives model and centre on relationships and the need for different types of relationships. They will start to identify goals for their participation in the course
- Session 2 the group will explore emotions and how they sometimes get the better of us. The difference between actions, thoughts and behaviours.
- Session 3 the group will explore distress tolerance, radical acceptance, how to build resilience, the important differences between greed, envy and jealousy before looking at techniques of positive self-talk.
- Session 4 the group will explore conflict management in a relationship. We compare constructive methods and “frames of mind” with destructive methods of conflict resolution.
- Session 5 We again look at the “Rules for a Fair Argument” and practical ways to stop a disagreement from escalating into a full argument. We look at the words that people use and how that affects us and how to how to manage these emotions effectively.
- Session 6 is a reflection of the whole duration of the course, a final Good Lives Model and how to plan and adapt for the future.
